Upon arrival at this hotel in a hired car, the security staff make necessary checks to ensure safely which was a good thing. As soon as we were in, a staffer came to pick up the baggages and took us to the reception counter for check in, which was quick. Although we had paid for a standard room, we got an upgrade for the superior one!

The good things about the resort are its natural feel with a lot of trees, a fishpond and lots of wood being used for decor which gave a sense of relaxation. The balcony in the room was very useful as it had a good view and was a cosy place to sit and relax. Considering that most hotels in SE Asia end up having a smell of stale cigarette air, this room was extremely clean, with no smells. This is the part I loved the most.

The most useful element in the hotel is its roof-top swimming pool which offers a great view of the beach and the sunset. We used the spa facility on the top floor which was also good. The restaurant served good breakfast and had friendly staff. Since we were checking out at 0400 hours on the last day, we were given a breakfast box. Although the fried rice was decent, the breadbox was useless as it didnt even have butter or sauce.

One thing that can really put you off at this hotel is its dull lighting. Probably the architect imagined that such mood-lighting could be good, it would result in a very dull evening if you stick around the room or the corridors. It may well lead to a nauseatic feeling. At that time, it is better to visit the crowded Kuta beach or walk around the streets nearby.

But beware, it is not located in a peaceful area. Jalan Pantai Kuta which runs between the hotel and the Kuta beach is extremely crowded and busy. If you dont like such places, it is better to avoid all hotels on this road and go for one that has a private beach.
