Money Changers

Hi. I am heading to Bali in February and wanted to know about money changers. I have been to Bali once before, and we stayed at the Padma in Legian, we didn't use money changers as we just got all our money changer at the hotel as the exchange rate was very similar.

This time we are staying at Bali Garden Resort, can you change money at reception, has anyone else done this or do they not do it?
