Rama Garden Hotel
This hotel is located about 500m from the beach on JL Padma, the entrance is almost on the road. On arrival we were upgraded to the deluxe rooms, second level at the end of the pool. And this is were we remained our entire stay, even though they did suggest that we may be moved, we had only paid for the standard rooms. Rama Garden was 100% occupied our entire stay.
My first impression on arrival at this hotel was that it was small and slightly enclosed, and I did wonder how I would go the full 10 days staying here. Having said that, it only took me a day or two to lose that feeling and really see what Rama Garden had to offer. (I think I felt this way as we usually stay at larger resorts, beach front)
The staff at Rama Garden were at all times profesional and friendly whilst at the same time being unobtrusive. Nothing was to much trouble. (Thanks Rama Garden staff).
This has to be one of the cleanest Bali hotels that we have stayed at. The grounds although small, were really quite pretty, with Orchids coming into flower during our stay. Lots of hanging plants and pots make up the garden beds and plant life, it really was lovely.
The pool was more than adequete and always spotlessly clean! I loved watching thier unusual cleaning technique early each morning. After cleaning the pool they would wash down every inch of paving surrounding the pool.
Each night they surounded the pool with lit candles, it looked gorgeous.
The pool is a little hard to get into, no steps, only a ladder.
The rooms we were upgraded to were up stairs. I did find the stairs quite steep and not a natural step hight, so I guess this could be a problem to some people. We got used to it soon enough.
The rooms were a little small, but again we managed. The beds I found extremely comfortable, new pillows(so many pillows and cushions on the bed!) and linnen changed every day, lovely thick blankets. I slept like a log each night! The rooms were cleaned immaculate every day. (I left a tip on the pillow each day).
Flat screen TV, in room safe, stereo and DVD player.
Some things in the rooms do need replacing, I think this would give the rooms a more overall proffesional higher quality feel.
The Bathrooms were also very clean, again could do with some small fix ups, eg.. broken taps. Not that great water pressure, hot water came in bursts only, and this did scare our daughter at first. Could be dangerous when not expecting it. (only a small gripe, did not affect our stay or anything).
Our 2 rooms interconnected through the bathrooms, this was actually quite handy!
I must say that I was surprised to see that that they were charging $97 US per night. I do feel this is a lttle steep for this hotel.(in my opinion). This is not what we paid. But we were charged $57US for late check out on one room, an extra 6 hours.
Over all a great hotel I would Rate 8/10.
