by the encouragement and support shown by all of you... people I've never interacted with before, and don't know. Thank you all so much for the time taken to share your views/thoughts. Its made me feel quite special on my bday (27... 3 yrs from the big 30!)
i am getting together with the ex to talk through all of the options tomrorow night. so I shall report back.
i love the idea of going off by myself and having an adventure, but I also know the type of person i am, and doing a trip on my own is not what i'm ready for...yet. So i either go with my ex, or don't go at all. It seems like Bali will be the place to test the waters when I do feel independent enough though!
Bali seems like an incredible place that's touched all of your hearts. I want to experience that. I think we could do the friends thing (in fact I know he will always be in my life) and as long as we both know its truly over, why not share in a wonderful holiday together. With the bonus of being free to meet other people as well.. hehe. I know I will get the money from him eventually, so that's not troubling me too much.
To be so excited for a trip, and then to not go would be horrible. Going up to Brisbane to be with my family just wouldn't compare, and I'm afraid, would leave me feeling quite depressed (even though I have the greatest family ever!).
Thank you again for taking the time to give feedback. I've worried this would come across as quite self-indulgent, but its been quite therapeutic for me. Thankyou xox Christine
