I've only seen ball park figures for the cheapest items you can buy in say t-shirts or sarongs. But quality differs so i might pay a lot more than a ball park figure for a really good sarong.
I've even seen ball park figures for paintings, and don't understand how tourists can give a figure based on the size of a painting!
I've read go to fixed price shops to get a general idea of prices of t shirts etc.
When it's something i think is unique, and that i haven't noticed elsewhere, i pay what i can afford and don't worry about wether it might be a higher price than someone else might pay for it in Bali.
