We go to Bali every year and log on to our server to pay our employees each week we are there, if you intend to use a laptop can I suggest that you do a dummy run ie go to a McDonalds here in Australia and use their free wi-fi to connect to your server, this way you will find out any pitfalls. I have done this for the last 8 year's while in Bali. We have also done the same from an Internet Cafe in Legian.
