Those like you put prices up & all are not big spenders.
Also a porter would not carry your bag.The luggage would have wheels or a trolley may be used.
Regarding your referral to exchange rates of the past,many who contribute to this forum remember when it was much less than your 1st experience.
Many had to learn through their own stuff-ups or by absorbing advice given from other people's experience.
