As for using your phone, that will depend on your carrier I guess. Cannot help with Bali cards sorry.
I did the same last two trips. 2 different motels had 2 different levels of success using hot spot internet. It depends on how you are accessing it, e.g. Hamachi/RealVNC, etc? There would be somewhere there where you would have enough priv's, but you could spend a bit of time finding it.
