Hiraji (NZ), foaled in 1943, was a grey Thoroughbred racehorse gelding by Nizami (Fr) out of Duvach by Foxbridge (GB). He was born at Trelawney Stud, Cambridge, New Zealand.[1]
Hiraji was owned by Mr. F.W. Hughes and trained by J.W. McCurley to win the 1947 Melbourne Cup ridden Jack Purtell starting at the odds of 12/1.[1]
