At most servos and some newsagents, corner stores etc, you can buy pre-paid credit cards. You just load them up with as much value as you like and they will work like a credit card. Never actually used one myself, but they're a great idea for online purchases, or anywhere you're concerned about safety.
They may just be a good idea for this sort of thing too. Load it up with about $20 or whatever you think you'll spend on board the flight - remembering the return trip too.
For those who don't have a credit card (which is still a lot of people these days), or those who wish not to use their own card, it might be worth looking into.
