I also have to inject clexane(sp) before each flight as I had blood clots in both my lungs last year. I always fee a bit suss going through the scanners to enters planes but both of my flights last year went through melbourne security and bali in bound and bali out bound with out being questioned once as to why i have syringes in my bag or what they are for....has made me a little suss of security now if one can go through 3 security checks in two different countries and not once be stopped. All though in syaign that when we left mebourne i did get asked to step aside, but this only happened once i had been through security and went back to help my daughter. I then told lady when she asked me to step aside for bomb and drug test that i had syringes in my bag..Look on her face was of utter stundness (is this a word). Am sorry abotu your experience with AA I am going with virgin this time first time OS with them so we will see hmmmmm Cheers.
