I just had a look at the prices and could only find prices for Perth at $1325. Given that you can get a return ticket for about $300 the extra $1025 would be better spent on something other than 3 hours of comfort IMHO.

Even from Melbourne (where we live) at a $1000 premium that's a lot of dough to sit in a comfortable seat for six hours. I suppose you get better food and wine as well.

Naturally, if you are in some way injured or physically handicapped, and flying in economy is distressing/painful, it is probably money well spent.
