I cannot bear going to Bali without at least a day trip to Ubud. Leave early (about a 90 min trip from Legian - ask to go the scenic route - one route is through dull, dirty towns). Tegalalang roadside markets are on a road to Kintimani & well worth looking at (spread over several kilometers - mainly homewares cheaper than & often different from what can be found in Kuta etc - look on the drive through & stop on the way back).
I recommend going to Kintimani as the views are spectacular & it's not often you get to see an active volcano. Do get there before the big buses arrive for lunch at the several buffet restaurants. It's about another 30(?) beyond Ubud.
Back in Ubud there is great shopping, lots of wonderful places to eat (Tropical Bale opposite Neka Art Museum is a favourite), lots of galleries not to mention the markets.
If you do decide to get a driver for any trip at all I strongly suggest that you get one recommended by Forumites - last trip we got a real dill who knocked a poor girl off her motorcycle through sheer incompetence - and he was expensive - and he was not at all interesting or informative.
