This is my first JBR so u will have to bear with me. Left Perth on the 19 September - about my 15th trip so as u can deduce love the place! Flew Garuda flighttually left early. Was on the early flight and after brekky ordered a bintang - have to get in the spirit. After the 3rd was told in no uncertain terms 'no more' which threw me slightly, 54 years old and is the first time i have had my alcohol suspended. Oh well not to worry. Was picked up from the airport by a friend who now lives in Sanur and taken to the Kuta Townhouses which was to be our home for the next couple of weeks. A friend owns a unit and graciously let us have residence. Room wasnt ready so managed to down a couple more bintangs and then switched to slushys - doubles for less than $3! Went down nicely. Got into our rom - very spacious and clean with a big fridge and so lots of ice - good start.
Anyway, dont want to bore u all so in brief wot did I do? Lots of shopping, work clothes made but as it was the end of rammadan hard as most of the tailors in Java. Went to Miracle Clinic and had a bit of restalyn to fill some wrinkles, to Jonneas cut etc etc - great job - had a quilt made for my bedand apart from that just lots of dvds and general shopping. Did a progressive dinner at Sanur. Entree, cocktail first restaurant, main cocktail at second and desert cockail at third - fun. Had hi tea in Seminyak which was really lovely. So much to eat and tea served in Royal Albert only $10. Was always going to do it in Perth but was cheaper in Bali and probably just as good. Ate heaps at the gong just down the road from hotel - so cheap. Seafood basket which consisted of whole snapper, squid, prawns, crab, salad chips $6 the staff just lovely. Ate there most days breakfast, lunch and tea! Did margueritas at uns. 2 weeks just went too fast - usually go 4 three - but am planning on going back in May. Departure a breeze. Flew out at 10.15 no queues at airport just straight through. No hassles at customs. God I love this place roll on May!
