JBR 24/09/09 - 03/10/09
This was our fourth trip to Bali; our last was 15 year ago, first was in 1986. Previous trips were all 4 week stints, back packing around Bali and Lombok.
Hubby (me) and Wife early 40's, leaving the kids at home.
Itinerary - 3 days in Sanur to acclimatize, 3 days in Candi Dasa to chillax and 3 days in Kuta to shop.
Flew Pacific Blue out of Melbourne mid afternoon, with an uneventful flight we arrived at Dempasar Airport 45min late due to a strong head wind. Not having any check in luggage to pick up (hand luggage only) we were through customs in 15 min and on our way to our first stop, 3 days at Besakih Beach Hotel in Sanur. Simple but clean room, beautiful grounds and great central location all for total of US $78.00 inc breaky.
The Besakih has under gone several changes since our last visit, mainly a bigger pool area, which is great. To be able to hang out in the pool and have an unrestricted view of the ocean and Mount Batur is just heaven. We love the Besakhi and it was great to relive old memories of previous stays. Ate at several Beach front cafes, can't remember names but all were great. Did a bit of shopping at Hardies. Bought 3x 5meter Bali Temple Fags for 70k ea and other assorted nic naks. We were pleasantly surprised to find that Sanur really hasn't changed much since in 15 years.
Next stop Candi Dasa.
