Eating pork in front of a Muslim is not really offensive, particularly in Indonesia and Malaysia where people are used to co-existing with people of different faiths. Expecting Mulsim cleaners or airline staff to handle your pork left-overs could be offensive.

Do you think a Jewish person would be offended if you ate a prawn or crab in front of them?

I think probably the commission aspect is the real reason why they discourage it.
