we have brought them back in the past and coincidentally from the same shop in Sukawati.
However you should be careful that there is no "rass" (loose wood or insect dust material) visible or that falls off when you shake or tap the umbrella on a desk or similar.
i would place the wooden section in a plastic bag if possible and sparay with fly spray a couple of days before departure and then shake the umbrella out a bit afterwards to ensure there is no bits that can shake out in customs.
I know this because we had one taken by quarantine one trip.
