When we found out the type of man he was we no longer wanted anything to do with him. I don't see any problem with that.
He stole the land in Poppy's 2 from a friend in Melbourne and he talked a silly farmer from Western Australia into giving him a total of $106,000.00 to build a house on it - which was to be 50/50. The $106,000 disappeared and there was only foundations, pillars, beams and roof.
By now even Richard could see only a small portion had gone into the house and he refused to give Erwin more money.
This was war as far as Erwin was concerned. He admitted there was a "grey area" of $30,000 that couldn't be accounted for but that was absolutely no reason why Richard should stop funding the project.( In actual fact no more than $10,000 to $12,000 would have gone into the building so the "grey area" was $90,000 plus.)
He than conspired with others to "aquire" the same dumb farmers property in Cangu and for a year or so it looked as though hey had won.
Richard finally went to the "Bali Post" who made it a front page story and Erwin and co pulled back.
What happened to him later was karma.
He lost Bamboo Palace( designed by the guy whose land he "aquired "in Poppy's 2) and he lost the house in Poppy's 2 which was never his in the first place.
When it was apparant that Richard's money had gone and that there was to be no 50/50 share in the house we said enough and walked. The only time we saw Erwin after that was when he came to either Wayan and Friends or Kura Kura to abuse us and ask us to fight him. What for? He had the problem not us.
There is a whole lot more I could say but you appear to be someone who believed his lies so I won't.
Of course I remember Roswita. When Richard started funding Erwin the 106,000 it was Roswita who knew what was going to happen as she had known Erwin longer than us.
He was a con man and because he was so good at it we were fooled for a number of years as you obviously still are.
When you are next in Bali would be happy to have a beer and tell you the whole story.
