My wife belongs to a quilting group on the Mid North Coast of NSW and since our last trip to Bali they have knitted a number of items as follows—14 knitted toy's, 3 knitted singlets, 61 jumpers and 67 beanies. All are for children maximum 4-5 years old.
We are after assistance from members of the forum as to where it would be best to take these items for distribution on our return visit ( about our twelth) for distribution. We leave Brisbane on the 28th October for 14 nights, staying Legian and Ubud.
Can anyone suggest organisations, ie orphanage or schools, and have any contact names or numbers so that she may take these items and put them to their best use.
Side story is that we originally booked our forward leg with Jet* as light with only carry on. We now have a bag of knitted items to take and after ringing them it is an extra $80 for the bag. Doesn't seem right as this works out as $8 per kilo where my ticket works out at $2 dollars a kilo. Big fella with cheap ticket HA HA LOL.
Anyway and help or information accepted gratefully. PS Would like to get a couple of photos of the kids with the gear to show the wonderful ladies who donated their time, materials and effort to put it all together on our return.
