Hi i stayed at the Sofitel in August, would recommend it to anyone. From the staff, the rooms, location, pools everything was suberp. Food and drinks a little $$$ but the breakfast you get every morning is great.. except the bacon... they have a free shuttle bus into Kuta everyday p/up and drop off.. we used one of the drivers to head up to Ubud & back and then out to Jimbaran Bay and only cost us $30 aus for the day his name was Wyan and he was brilliant (very funny). the hotel has very strict security every car gets checked over and even when your walking back from a days shopping they look into every bag.
we got recommeded to stay there and it was great. if this is were you choose you will love it
