and none relate to a place anything like Bali with a huge (500.000+) population of largely feral dogs in close proximity to humans. Can you estimate the physical and financial cost of vaccinating and revaccinating those dogs, and then each annual crop of new dogs of at least 100.000 new ones. To vaccinate each of the present dog population twice in a year is 20.000 per week. Remember that most dogs have never been handled and the importance of dog care and vaccination is a mystery to most Balinese. Who will produce, finance, manage and carry through a programme like that?
The virus has already spread to several areas of Bali so no area limited programme is feasible.
