Have been home now for just over a week & having been to Bali about a dozen times, this was a first for us to Sanur.
Travelled with friends (they actually introduced us to Bali, several years ago) & this was their first time spent in Sanur as well.
Stayed at Sanur Beach Villas (SBV), what a pleasant surprise. Thank you Ron, Irma & staff. From the moment we arrived we were treated like long lost friends. About AUD$40 per night & included cooked breakfast.
A bintang, chat & then off on an impromptu "Sanur Cultural Tour".
First stop "Kasumas". Ron promised that this was the freshest, cheapest seafood in Bali. We went back there several times during our stay.
The "Cave" bar. Not sure how this one evolved, but cold beer & full of Beatles memorabilia.
The "Bonsai" Bar, this is on the beach front in the middle of the Sanur board walk. If you're there & into Bonsai plants then be sure to go out to the back of the restaurant & have a look at their collection. Probably the best I've seen anywhere in the world.
Met another couple, Hugh & Chris, a huge thank you for taking the time to befriend & show us around.
Another 2 couples, from home, who were staying in Kuta came over for a visit one afternoon (Bali Virgins) so impressed that they are planing on going back to Sanur next year. Totally "blown away" by the hospitality, honour system for beers out of the "BIG Red Esky" under the Tree of Knowledge.
Ate at Mossimo's one night, very impressive & also another excellent restaurant is Resto Ming, opposite Mossimos.
Sanur is far removed from the hussle & bussle we have experienced in Bali in the past. No where near as quiet as Amed or Lovina, but still great little spots to eat & drink.
We will definitely be back to Sanur again
