Stayed at Bali Shangrila Beach Club in May this year and also in 2006. Hired an outrigger from one of the guys that hang around on the beach. Can't recall how much, but not overly expensive (cheaper than what the hotel offers). Went to White Sand beach (Pasir Putih) Hired sun lounges and had seafood lunch at one of the warungs, then snorkelled off the beach - a great day! The next day the same boat guy took us to Blue Lagoon (near padang bai) to snorkel. We also hired a driver and did a day trip to Amed, stopping off at Tirta Ganggha princely baths on the way. Tengangan traditional village is worth a look. We had great meals at Aquaria (just a few driveways along from Bali Shangrila going into town), Vincent's and Friends. There's a few nice little, low key shops to browse in the main street.
