Back home on saturday afternoon, after 17 glorious days in bali- after much planning and questions, thankyou to all for advice, opinions, etc
Days 1-4- Sanur- villa lumbung at Puri Ayu- our 1st time to sanur and my 1st impression was 'how quiet!' Barely any people on the beach and I found sanur quite spread out. We loved apa kabar and villa lumbung was massive. Our friends were in the 2 bedroom garden apt and they were fab too. We liked the resort- not too big and certainly close enough to the beach, restaurants, etc. The pool area was nice and breakky good enough also. The second morning we were there the 'earth moved!' No, not what you might think....7am we awoke to the roof and walls shaking like crazy- 'earthquake' i yelled. My youngest, 13yr old josh came running and we bolted outside, but hubby remained in bed and 16yr old carly snoozed on. Everyone was outside wandering what on earth was happening. The strongest tremor Ive ever experienced and the entire villa was moving. Not too spoil our holiday, just another day in paradise!
EATING- ate at Donalds, jepun, gateway to india, beach cafe, puri ayu
Best by far- gateway to india- absolutely yummy food- 2nd- jepun
Others- average- nothing to rave about
ACTIVITIES- Did white water rafting with bali international-350,000 rph including poor lunch-
a great day, lovely scenery and not scary at all- we would have prefered it a bit more adventurous though- 12 steps down, 150 easy steps up. Saw many other companies with massive mountain step climbs!
OVERALL OPINION OF SANUR- I probably wouldnt stay again- we love the waves of legian area and sanur a little quiet, much older people there- we're still spring chickens in our mid 40's! HA!
Found it a little more expensive- still lovely, but seen it now.
Next jbr- sanur to amed
