Being a father to a 7 & 8 year old we ask our kids to be considerate on a plane and act like they are in a nice restuarant or a library. I don't like bogans either.
On our last flight over a 30 something couple of DINK'S sat in front of us and reclined their seats right back straight after take-off. Our kids nudged (not slammed) their seats on a couple of occassions when getting up to the loo. The couple let fly with lots of tuts and sighs followed by a "please restrain your kids" torrent.
Needless to say I could have wrapped their matching eye shades and neck pillows where the sun don't shine. But no, my wife calmly explained they were just off to the toilet past their reclined seats. This was met with many hmmmmphs, more sighs and whispers. Other passengers rolled their eyes and shook their heads at them in dismay.
My gosh my kids were being angels. I could see this couple were the type to only enjoy a holiday that they could whinge about. I pity the poor staff at their hotel or villa. It no doubt be would be a spectacle and tantrum of its not good enoughs, don't you speak the Queens English, then demanding the Manager and an up-grade because their toast was cold.
Even more dissapointing they were clasping their travel docs. in a Tasmanian Travel Agents sleeve. Being fellow Taswegians I was embarrassed for my state not only other Aussies.
