I have just raised six stray pups whom, without BAWA's assistance simply would not have made it, as i dont have the money to spend on food for dogs, simple as that, much the same as the balinese.
AND when indonesian's DO have the money and inclination, a bali street dog is the LAST pet they usually think of....they tend to get a pekinise, or sausage dog or some small fluffy yappy thing.
Bali st dogs are in a no win situation, and if it wasnt for us white people being so passionate about the animals, this includes cats AND dogs, the situation would be simply for the government to cull them as they just recently did in Canggu, i think it was, 2000 dogs....wiped out, cause its the easiest way for the government to NOT deal with the situation.
