BOTOX AND MICRO DERMABRASION
I went to the Arc clinic last year and had Botox done and was happy enough to do it again this trip. I went to the Miracle clinic this year and had both micro(Miracle crystal peel) and Botox. The micro was a little uncomfortable and my skin felt flushed and warm for a short time after, but it was silky smooth and fresh looking. I had a numbing cream added before I had my Botox and I also had some Restalyn to fill my frown line between my brows. I took about a week to see the full effects and I returned to have a top up of Restalyn and a few more Botox jabs in my forehead . Cost for Botox has gone up 500rp and is now 90,500 per unit. I had a total of 50 units @ 90,000rp per unit which was about $560. The Restalyn was about $330 and the micro was $56. I am really happy with the outcome.I had deep furrows between my brows and a creased forehead plus a few laugh lines. I now look a few years younger and refreshed without looking expressionless.

Bali Agung poppies1 ; **
The drink list is what makes me go back, 55,000 a jug of cocktails.
The food is average, sometimes good and I have had a couple of meals that weren't very nice.

Sidoi warung jl legian : ***
A new restaurant with nice decor ,lots of chefs and fantastic service and food was great.
This restaurant was ridiculously cheap I thought they'd made a mistake with our bill! We had 2x sate ayam,a fettucine carbonara, a veg pizza, a chicken cordon bleu, 4x ice creams ,a banana split, 2x sm bintang, 3x oj, 2x aqua, 1 coke total cost was 272,000 loved it here.

Garris Garris,sth kuta:***
A really nice restaurant with excellent service and food, a little above average in price but well worth it for food quality presentation and service.

Febris , kuta: *
We had lunch here and it took 1 hour for our food to come out and the whole place was covered in flies! I had to cover our drinks and fan the kids plates constantly! The food wasn't very nice either. I wont go back yuk, yuk!

Bali Rock ,jl melasti legian: ***
I love this place its big and friendly. 2 levels ,downstairs has tables, bar, stage for band ,chill out lounge area and upstairs has pool tables and lounges as well as a large balconey.
Food is always great and cheap as are drinks. Great staff and bands usually start around 9pm and kids are always welcome. Security out front. They always have some entertainment. We watched the footy there with a packed house of aussies and we also went to the Beach party ,that was fun.

Bubba gumps kuta:***
Great food ,great staff and atmosphere. Food is expensive but very nice. For our family of 6 it was 800,000. We always go once each trip with the kids they love this place.

Cemara beach restaurant Sanur: *
I had a really bad meal here ,but the rest of my family enjoyed theirs. So, maybe it was a once off? Dunno. I had the Sapi rending and it was really tough thin slices of beef(?) in a curry sauce. I liked the sauce so I persisted on gnawing my way through this meal. It didn't stay down long, my stomach has a mind of its own and will voluntarily expel a meal it feels it isn't fit for consumption (...) But my daughter had a beautiful chicken breast kebab and the rest of the family were fine. I wont be back.

Bobby's beach restaurant sanur: ***
We ate here most days whilst we were at the Villa Puri Ayu, good meals on the sand ,ocean views really nice casual place, average priced. Kids loved the chicken nuggets, they weren't nuggets at all ! they were portions of chicken breast schnitzel that were tender and juicy. A real favourite for them.

Sal E Pepe sanur :**
Not bad prices, food was nice and pizzas were really good. They delivered which was convenient.

Puri Santrian restaurant on beach: ***
I will say this place is 5 star in food service and atmosphere. My hubby didn't like it as the menu was mostly 'flashy meals' as he puts it,but I loved it.They have a dj beat boxing at his turntable ,so we got a table away from him so we can chat without yelling.Nice big lounges and sheltered from the ocean breeze.for 8 people it cost 1,392 000 but that included lobster,a chicken meal ,mie goreng,a curry chicken,a lasagne ,a spag bol,a steak and 2x bourbons,2x cosmopolitans (yummy),2x beers and 2x coke. The menu did have a lot of Japanese style foods.

McDonalds & KFC :**
Yes, I'm adding these as well! The kids enjoyed Maccers a few times and it is the same as at home, but cheaper. I like KFC, it's much nicer than home crispy and not so greasy and I love been able to have rice in place of fries and ice tea instead of coke. It was quick and easy for those days after lots of shopping and we just wanted to eat and go to bed. Be warned though...trying to order home delivery is a real hoot, we tried and the communication barrier was just frustrating after 20 mins of repeating my order and not getting it right I had to laugh. So I walked down and ordered and taxi'd it back.
Being a family of six and staying for a month we mainly tried to eat at average priced places without going too cheap. After all half the holiday is about the food and not cooking! So we budgeted for around $40 per meal per day and most times we came in way under that.

Some activities we did:
Rafting on the Telagawaja was 250,000 per person for 4 people.

Waterbom park, we got a two day pass 3 adults & 3 kids was 1,426 000rp a gazebo 200 000 was and locker was 30 000. Then add another $100- $150 for drinks and lunch. It is an expensive day out but it is great fun with something for everyone.

Glass bottom boat sanur: 600 000rp for 8 of us
Bowling kuta: 2 games for 6 people with new socks and shoe hire was about $50

Hard Rock Hotel Day swim: we do this every trip. I cant afford to stay there so we will spend a day swimming and enjoying the games ,food and atmosphere. Cabana price on the weekend is 250,000
And midweek is 200,000. It's 100,000 per adult and 50,000 per child to swim for the day. We weren't charged for the kids this time. So a total of 550 000 and that includes towels. Locker hire was 50 000 refundable deposit. Lunch was 300 000( 2hotdogs,1nachos,1 burger, 1coconut prawns) Bintangs were 42 000 each or but 2 get one free so it works out to 28 000 each beer.A yardie was 165 000, buy 1 get 1 free. This is a plastic sippy jug that has a cocktail with a strap to put over your neck. Sip and swim now thats my idea of chilling in the pool.
Beach volley ball, kids activities included kite making, craft and cooking in the restaurant all free. Pool games like walking on water are very funny to watch and play.

We didn't do a lot of touristy stuff as we have been to Bali many times and we like to relax and shop, swim, eat and be merry without the stress of day trips. We did meet with Smudge and organised a trip to Munti Gunung to deliver the clothing donations we brought with us and food ( Smudge took us to Makro to buy 100kgs of rice ,noodles, condensed milk etc) to take to the village he looks after. This was a really lovely experience for our kids who looked forward to be sharing some of our holiday time and funds to helping out families less fortunate than us. Being charitable is something I hope my children will carry in their hearts and I hope they will continue to visit and help the Balinese and other less fortunate countries when they are adults.

To sum up our holiday...I wouldn't stay at the Barong hotel ever again! I loved the Lumbung Villa at the Puri Ayu Sanur. I will never want to be in Bali during the Idul Fitri holiday again, so much traffic and no taxis on meters ( I did lose weight walking though!) We had stuff stolen from the Barong by staff and my son had money stolen from his safe at The Lokha Hotel. I won't use the in room safes anymore. I was happy with the exchange rate never dropping below 8000 even with TC's. I will endeavour to learn how to ride a scooter before my next visit. I practised on a hire bike in a sanur carpark ,much to the amusement and fits of laughter from the locals! Every time I gave it gas I screamed and then braked. So it was zoom scream stop ,zoom scream stop all the way round and round whilst my son and hubby ran alongside me puffing and panting in the heat. How embarrassing!

I forgot to mention my son had dreadies with short extensions done by Zaneal. Very well done with crochet hook. It took two sessions from afternoon till late evening and seemed painful but looks great. It was around $200-250 from memory. So thats our trip I will leave my email open for questions cos I don't get on the forum daily .
Cheers Lenny
