This week my son spent 1 night 2 days in hospital i have travel insurance through covermore travel insurance, but i had to pay upfront, total cost including hospital, medication, consultation was $835au this included the banks costs on my credit card too. Hospital charged 7million + rupiah. lucky i took a credit card with me as this was unexpected, otherwise i would have no spending money left:( with some insurance companies they liase with the hospitals and give guarantee so you dont have to pay anything upfront. This hospital is like a 5 star hotel room, it was unreal! it had a safe, mini bar, european style ensuite, beautiful decor with plasma tv, cable tv, and doctors and nurses of all different nationalities.
