We spent 3 nights on Gili T at Scallywags earlier this month.
I was a bit worried about the party reputation of the island, compared to Air and Meno - but I found it really peaceful.

I understand that if you are there when the all-night full moon party is on, then that can get a bit loud with DJ's on the southern end of the main beach.
They also have a system where one night a week, a certain bar is open all night for party time.

Scallywags is close to the Irish pub, but I didn't hear any music or loud noise for 3 nights at all - maybe we were just lucky, but I found that the lack of cars and dogs made for a very quiet holiday.

We had a day trip to Gili Air and this is far less developed than Gili T - I do like my creature comforts, like hot running water and top quality food, so the more developed Gili T certainly suited us more than Air.....Air is more laid back, with basic restaurants/bars, but Gili T has 5 star level dining and always cold beers.

I wil be heading back to Gili T as a base and then take day trips to Air and Meno to discover these other islands a bit more - need to do soem more research on them and I might discover a spot for us!

But I loved Gili T, it was clean and quiet and yes, there were plenty of young back-packers on the beach, soaking up the sun or snorkelling or drinking, but mainly Europeans and all just enjoying fun in the sun.

Not sure about portable cots, but enquire at Scallywags and see if they have any available.
