We were given the name of a man in Nusa Dua by a friend of my sister's who had a very positive experience with him. His name is Putra and he is basically a spiritual healer and guide - the people in his village use him as well as doctors (it's his philosophy to work alongside medical practioners instead of replacing them).
We were collected from our hotel after a very long and difficult telephone process to contact him (probably need to get our Indonesian under control so we can communicate better!) and the drive took around 30 minutes.
His garden is an oasis of peace and we could sense it the minute we arrived...magical.
He is a lovely lovely man who speaks English well in a soft voice and smiling eyes.
He can work on an emotional level and a physical level but suggests that if you need healing in a health sense, that you maybe visit more than once.
We waited in his home and then each of us was given around 40 minutes of Reiki in a little separate room filled with nothing but a bed, a chair and a CD player with calming meditative music playing.
For me, I experienced a deep meditation which is unusual for me. My legs and arms disappeared and my head felt as if it was being pushed back into the wall although it wasn't. I saw swirling colours, and had the feeling I was walking through a forest seeing familiar faces every now and then. I cried, I felt uplifted and when I opened my eyes Putra had a chat to me about everything I saw and felt. He then blessed 3 bottles of water which I was to drink over the next day or so and told me to expect some physical evidence such as high and low energy, possibly feeling sick etc etc.
Strangely enough, all 3 of us had the physical effects in the order that we saw him....and my brother in law (who is permanently on Imodium every time we go to Bali) did not have one sign of a bad stomach - Putra worked on that side of things for him.
I will post contact details once I have them but we paid rp200,000 each for the session (at the rate of 8300rp it worked out at $24)
