Flew out with hubby on the 6.40pm Garuda flight which was great, food was beautiful as usual and a pretty unadventful flight just the way we like it.
Landed in Denpasar at 10.40pm as planned and hit the VOA lines. Actually it was quicker than I thought, 25mins and we were out queing for a taxi. I love the feeling of walking out the airport doors, the sudden heat that hits you and the smell which I realise I miss everytime I leave to go home..

We stayed at the Kumala Pantai in legian as usual, I love this hotel for its pleasant staff and its not too big like some of the other hotels like the Padma up the road.
This was my 6th trip to the "Island of the Gods" but my husbands first trip so was eager to see if he liked it.

As soon as we checked in we hit circle K for supplies then bedded down for a well earned sleep.

Next morning up bright and early for breakfast, I so missed having my eggs cooked anyway I like them. After brekkie hit the streets to show hubby around. Got the all important SIM card to call the kiddies everynight since this was our first trip without them. Also got money changed at my fav Kodak shop on Rum Jungle. That evening we caught up with our friends Nat & Kev and headed to dinner at Mira Mar in Legian, always get a absolutely beautiful meal there and really cheap.

The following morning my friend and driver Made picked us up and took us to Nusa Dua, then onto Uluwatu where we had lunch at Blue Point. I read on the forum about how breathtaking this place was and it didn't dissappoint. The lunch was a little overpriced for what you got but the infinity pool was worth it. Hubby relaxed under an umbrella while the 3 of us enjoyed the beautiful view of Uluwatu from the pool.. Just Heaven!!!

That night we headed up to Nat & Kevs hotel Inna Kuta for a couple of drinks and then went to The Boardwalk in Tuban for dinner. This placed was beautifully decked out with very comfortable dining chairs and tables and lounges to watch the shows that they put on. The meals here were lovely and well priced also. A must here is the Sushi Style Tuna Spring Rolls, they were so delicious...that we went back the following night just for them..

The next day was quadbiking (I was extremely nervous). We were picked up by See Bali Adventures Tours at 10am and was greeted by our friends Nat & Kev and two really lovely couples which were also from Perth. Once we got up there we met our guide and was given our very fashionable wellies and off we went for some instruction and a test drive.
Hubby and I and our friends all chose to have our own quads (its a control thing!!) while the other 2 couples shared.

Off we went with a splash, there we were all riding round and round over the same puddles until Eddie our guide signalled for us to follow his out ino the jungle!
First we did some winding through lots of muddy potholes and weaving through trees until we all got the hang of it, well, sort of. I ran up the ass of hubby and Nat stopped quickly and Kev ran up her ass, very funny!
Finally we were off for our two hour adventure ride. It was awsome, I have never been so scared and exhilarated at the same time, we were sliding down huge hills, through huge mud puddles, man made ruts and then down came the rain. It poured down and we were soaked plus the roads got more and more slippery and probably a little dangerous but what the hell we were having so much fun everyone just kept on going.

After we finished we all sat down to a nice cold bintang and a gorgeous lunch and had fun watching the video of us all riding. A fab day out was had by all!

More to follow....
