I would never again have work done to a ring (or any jewellery) of sentimental &/or monetary value in Bali. I got ripped off on both counts having my late mother-in-law's diamond ring remodelled. There is heaps of info in the archives here - start searching under "jewellers".

The thing is that when choosing the jeweller I went to I relied on the many positive posts here concerning that particular business. It was only after I posted of my bad experience that others came forward with their, in some cases very, sad stories.

That said though there is a jeweller in Denpasar who gets consistently glowing reports. Also Mayang on the corner of Kuta Square. Mrs Pak gets mixed reports.

Your girlfriend can only do a lot of research here & on other forums & make up her own mind. If I had my druthers, I'd pay extra & have the work done by a reputable jeweller in Australia. BTW it's a good idea to have the jewellery valued & photographed & take copies to show the jeweller in Bali.
