Reading through the forums I thought I would share a story from my last trip.
My family have been going to Bali in Dec/Jan for 5 years running and on our 3rd trip with kids in tow we had the best driver. His name was Febriano and was from Nusa Dua. His english isn't the greatest but a really nice guy. On our next trip back we intended to catch up with him, unfortunately I changed phones and lost all my contacts. Thinking it would be easy to locate him once we got over there. With his name being unusual and knowing details about him and the area he worked.
Well everytime we went out we would ask if anyone in the area knew of this driver and with absolutely no luck each time. Nearing the end of our trip we had given up hope of finding him again when we went for an evening walk. I was commenting that the drivers didn't seem to have much business this year when I spotted a driver approach another group of people only to be turned away.
As we got closer I started to recognise him and at the same time a brilliant smile came onto his face and he called out to us -remembering us from last year -even in the bad light of dusk.
Big hugs and numbers exchanged -in more than one phone and card! The only bad thing was that his family were having a big celebration and we would not be able to catch up again before we left.
Good thing we love the place and get drawn back each year. Going back in Jan so this time we will have more time to catch up with him and hopefully meet some others taht make our holidays that much more special.
