We stayed at Andari Villas off Rum Jungle Road, Legian once again, it is our favourite villa....2 bedrooms for $US230/night with a maid from morning until 4.00 each day.

Our friends stayed with us for 4 nights and we all had a ball enjoying cocktails by the private pool and watching our DVD's from a newly married Mr H.

It was time for a little bit of retail therapy, after our time on Gili T and so a summary is outlined as follows:

- Book
Last trip our friends had bought us a book called 'My Life in Bali' by Sandrine Soumade from the Enchanted Book shop (a children's book shop) on Jalan Raya Kerobokan. (on opposite side of road to Geneva, not far from there)
Unfortunately they bought us back the French version, so I returned it and swapped it for the English version! No problem at all. Costs about 350,000 Rp.
It is an illustrated book that I will put on our coffee table, that explains a lot about Balinese culture and you can open it at any page and read a short story. It is such a charming book and many people have commented on it.

- Tailor
I had a pair of favourite work trousers, so I purchased some wash'n wear fabric from Alta Moda and took them to Jay at Orchid Tailor.
Jl Werkudara / Pura Bagus Taruna 518C in Legian
(just opposite the Captain Cook bar on same side of the road as Yutz).
As it was nearing the end of Ramadan, I was lucky to get my trousers made, as many of the tailors working for Orchid had already left to return back to Java.
It took 2 days and my trousers were a perfect replica, down to the pleats and pockets.
Cost me 300,000 Rp total for 3 pairs of trousers (I supplied the fabric).

- Handicrafts
I am a fan of both Geneva and Unagi, so this trip I decided to try Biarritz.
Jalan Sunset Road No.9 (right next door to Rudy Art, opposite side of the road to Carrefour).
Biarritz is owned by the owners of Geneva and is set out all clean and new and bright store. I had a good look around each and every aisle and came up with some red paper lanterns, to use in my back yard tree to pop in a tea light in each for less than 5,000 Rp per lantern.....they will look great for our next bbq, once the weather gets warm enough to venture outside without being rugged up with winter layers.
I also bought some colourful bed runners for about 80,000 Rp each.
Coloured Bintang singlets for less than 30,000 Rp each. (I think they were about 27,000 each).
They didn't have as much stock as Geneva, but nice and clean!

- Reading glasses
I was going to use Mr Honeyman, but seeing as this was my first ever pair of glasses, I decided to go to a shop in Centro. Ended up at Optik Melawai on the ground floor- we spent about $A120 each, with our optician prescription from home. Picked Diesel and Converse frames - the choice is mind boggling. Didn't take me too long and we paid a deposit and returned a few days later and picked them up. I have no idea on comparing price to home, but I am happy with the speed with which I can now enjoy reading my novels!

Next...............dining experiences..............
