We stayed end of March/June in Barbs, and would definately use again. The apartments are very tastefully decorated and they have a large size fridge and they have a water bottle dispenser that is replaced with a new bottle as you use it. Great for just filling up smaller bottles and putting them in the fridge the night before. We had three of us in the apartment (3 females). 2 in queen bed and my daughter (19) on the sofa bed (which was the lounge and it was very comfortable). We just sat on her bed when we were chilling or having our own happy hour. There are absolutely heaps of restaurants nearby. As someone already mentioned the restaurants along the beach strip (Zanzibar, Lanai etc) you will also find in Rum Jungle Rd which starts just across from the entrance of the Jayakarta lots of restaurants including Yutz (my girlfriend said it was the best steak she has had in years), Flying Piano, Sawasdeekha (Thai Restuarant & Sports Bar), and a must is Tommys (open for breakfast and lunch only but yummy cornbeef salad rolls and french fry sandwiches and the icey cold Milo Shake just to name a few). Also there is a Kodak Shop (2nd shop in from corner) honest money changer we never had a prob. Anyway hope you have fun!
