Back last night - cold at home and wishing I was back in Bali.....
Had a great holiday, stayed at Kumala Pantai in an Ambassador Suite, can't recommend this enough, big bedroom and bathroom for us, lounge/dining in the middle and interconnecting room for the boys. Suite was ground floor in SG block, just perfect. We are back in Bali in July and I tried to book the suite again but all booked already. In fact there are only 3 rooms available in SG block for July 2010 already, booking out fast......KP is so popular, prices are excellent, can't get any better value for money in my opinion. The owners daughter was getting married on Friday, would have loved to have a look at the wedding but unfortunately we left the hotel at 11.30 am. Staff had started decorating the hotel on Tuesday, just beautiful.
Ate mainly along the beach front, Lanai good as ever, Tekor, Blue Ocean and Seaside still good, not impressed with Zanzibar. Flying Piano was good fun and an excellent meal, Tommy's good for salad rolls as usual. Went to Ultimo on our last night and I must say this was our best meal in Bali. Breakfast at KP was also good, I read some complaints on here about it but honestly what do some people expect for breakfast??? Eggs any way you like, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, noodles, rice, fruit - what more could you want?
Boys did heaps of shopping, I did'nt do a lot, bought some really lovely silver pendants and also a gorgeous Pandora bracelet from Silverberry. Boys were paying 35 000 for t-shirts and shorts, 25 000 for belt buckles etc. Silver Boat were having a 50% off sale, pendants were approx 80 000 - 120 000.
My sister, brother-in-law, two little nieces, Mum and my oldest son and his girlfriend were also in Bali, what a great holiday spending time with all the family! We went to Ubud, Monkey Forest, Tanah Lot and had Gusti and his brother take us, boys in one car and girls in another. Had lunch at Indus in Ubud, lovely setting and meal good.
I found Bali to be busy. Beachfront restaurants always full, plenty of tourists, roads busy as usual. It was simply a fantastic holiday and I ws'nt ready to come home!
Had heaps of massages, manicures, pedicures at Briella Spa opposite KP, excellent as usual. Really going to miss those foot and leg massages after dinner!
I'm back in Bali in November with a friend and we have booked to stay at the Pelangi. Checked it out when I was there and have decided to stay elsewhere. Spoke to people who were staying there and they were enjoying it but just did'nt appeal to me......tried to book into KP but they are fully booked, Febris has vacancies so will ring agent on Monday and hopefully obtain a refund on our accommodation and then I will book Febris. Checked out Febris and think it will be perfect for us. Also looked at Puri Raja, not bad but not as nice as KP. We have been quoted US $55 per night including b/fast at Febris so can't get any better than that.
Have been quoted 650 000rp for KP for a superior room in July so thats where we'll be staying then.
Went to Waterbom once (all 11 of us), we paid for the boys to go back again before leaving and the two of them went again a few days later. Great family day out, even I went on two waterslides, screamed all the way down but what fun!
