applicable in parts of Indonesia where fundamental muslim laws apply (I.E. Acheh) for some time, and I understand that in some of those provinces stricter laws are now being applied, especially in matters of infidelity or dress codes (mostly applying to the female population)
However, Indonesia is a huge place, and it seems that different laws, and interpretation of those laws can apply depending on the location and situation that may apply locally.
It is most unlikely that strict sharia type laws would be applied in a tourist and prodominantly Hindu island such as Bali.
However, as with visiting any muslim dominated country, and as a matter of simple respect anyway, tourists should think before wandering about the streets with bikinis on, or mankinis for that matter as well..........Oh, the thought of Hools in a mankini ??!!
