people have to squeeze to one side to allow cars to get by, motor bikes are a hazard, especially those with the board carrier leg catchers on.
You take your life in your hands every time you walk down these streets.........
and this is Poppies 1, Poppies 2 and many many of the lanes and gangs around the tourist areas of southern Bali.
The lanes that KTH are in are no different to this.
If you think that Jalan Kartika Plaza is any better than this then go for it.
However, the up and down footpaths will soon have you pushing out onto the roads, and subsequent road traffic speeds as opposed to the slower gang speeds that normally prevail in the smaller gangs.
To be honest, I find a lot of this KTH access stuff a lot of claptrap.
Someone mentioned the person in a wheelchair that was "having problems".
I spoke with this person at KTH, and she and the group generally told me that they were very happy with things at KTH, and that's from the horses mouth.
I know that the person visits the forum, and will no doubt correct me if neccessary.
Furthermore there is a 5 storey building going up in the same lane, and the materials are not carried in on peoples heads!!
I drive Avanzas, Xenias etc in and out of KTH all the time, and have never had a problem.
I have an 85 year old mother and friend who walk the lanes whenever they are there, and have no problems.
I have daughters who stay regularly, and push three wheel pneumatic tyred strollers along the lanes quite happily.
Remember, there are THREE lanes to choose from, including the one directly out to Legian St, which also branches to Poppies 1.
When arriving or departing to/from the airport (the only time I use taxis), I have not had a refusal in 15 odd trips to/from KTH.
These are just my experiences, but they are not just "I saw this" or "I heard that" as some posters contribute to the discussion.
Scotty is correct in that right oposite KTH, Made is renting out top quality Aussie strollers, including Beema and Valco etc.
We used him last trip to save on having to cart heavy stuff too and fro.
He will also look after all your mobile phone needs and also motor bikes and transport.
I have his contact details if anyone wants to mail me.
