Call me cynical - but having been to Bali recently & yes there is a spirits shortage in a number of bars - maybe this action of removing opened OR unopened bottles is just another scam - confiscate the alcohol & then sell it to bars who are experiencing the shortage?? Having said that, we've gone thru the scanners with bottles in suitcases, but not alcohol and nobody said or did a thing?
