Gentamicin has been around for years I had it prescribed for my son back in 1979 and myself in the 1990's. I think the reason they have said your skin might go darker is because the cream can cause your skin to become prone to sunburn. The doctor told me to make sure that I put sunscreen on to avoid getting burnt.
