if you are going to be there for any length of time i would advise you to bring some from home, unless money isn't an issue.op shops often sell them cheaply in australia. they are relatively expensive to hire on the beach- it is fine to haggle hard if you do.the costs will add up over a few days to about the cost of a new one at home. also, some lovely gentle european lads staying at our hotel were forced to cough up some serious dough when their hired surfboard broke. it was an old dodgy looking thing, who knows how often it had been repaired before and the waves that day were tiny. a cautionary tale. i hope this helps
