Ubud - 4 nights at The Payogan Villa. Beautiful resort!
In Ubud days consisted of - doing nothing by the pool, Monkey Forest - little buggers jumped on my bag & actually tried to undo the zip, & shopping. Best meal was at Naughty Nuris - BBQ ribs were delicious!
Then went to Legian - we had a apartment at The jayakarta..Never again!! The apartment was filthy, dark, smelt of mould. One of the seats was soaking wet and sheets damp.Plus we asked for 3 beds and got 2. Finally after few complaints and 3 room changes moved the hotel for just a triple room which was good.
Highlights -
*Went to Echo beach on a Sunday after reading about it here...had the best meal of the trip. Great setting & atmosphere. had BBQ schnapper which was just delicious and the salads were yummy!
*Also went to a wedding between a Balinese lady and a aussie guy. It was in a little village about 90min from Legian. What a experience. was wonderful...the bride stunning in traditional Balinese costume. And they had a interpretor who explained all what was happening...very interesting. We were so lucky to be invited.
We were supposed to fly home the next day yet changed our flights as the couple were having a reception 2 nights later which we did not want to miss.
* Reception was at Jimbarin Bay. Was stunning...beautful flowers every where...a foot path of frangipanis for the brige & groom to walk down..They had fire dancers, belly dancers, bongo players, fire works & a traditional Balinese dancer who got a few of the aussies up trying to dance which was hilarious...was amazing night..Was well worth the cost of changing our flight
*Also did the Safari Park which was great and got all the photos with the animals. I just love Broni the orangutan.
Had a lot other plans yet just ran out of time and really wanted to spend quite a few days doing nothing. Another great trip, so now start saving for next year.
