I think the market usually opens around 3am. We get there between 6.30 and around 8am.
We havent seen it in the dark.
I guess more of the local products would sell out but still heaps there. Not sure when it closes, bur definitely still busy a 8am.
There is plenty of fruit, vegetables, chicken, pork, fish (all non refrigerated), warung type delights for breakfast, burgery treats, sates, you can buy incense sticks, local clothes, precut fabrics, scarves, hair clips and ties, toys and so much more.
The grounds are all concreted, so no muddy sploshes.
We generally go to the market on our first morning in Bali as we wake early, still on Melbourne time.
