than just a side trip from Bali. It is really a holiday or trip within it self.
The two major set ups are in Sandakan(Uncle Tans)which is in Sabah in the north of Borneo and at Tanjung Puting National Park in Kalimantan in the south of Borneo.
To get to the north you will have to look at Air Asia for flights into Kota Kinabalu, these go via Jakarta.

If you go to Sandakan it is worth a visit to the War Cemetery there. Just under 3,000 Australian soldiers were forced march to their deaths during the later stages of WW2.
For the south you will have to get to Banjarmasin, these flights are with Lion Air and Garuda Airlines. Again these are via Jakarta.
There are smaller less known groups operating around Balikpapan, to fly there you can go via Jakarta or Ujung Pandang.

The Indonesian/Malaysian words orang hutan actually mean "man of the forest".
I know you did not ask that bit but I just wanted to show off!
