Well, another senational trip, the hubby, mother-in-law (MIL) and moi. First port of call was Sanur and stayed at Diwangkara right up the top for three nights. The hotel was great and a fair bit away from it all but still in walking distance. The breakfasts were buffet and superb!! The restaurant to the right as you walk out of the resort was great and good prices. The night markets, whilst daunting to the MIL, were sensational - so loved the food. Next port of call was Ubud for another three nights. Stayed at the Ubud Inn which was a fabulous location. Went a bit nuts of the homewares and loved the markets. The best nasi goreng was located at Bendi's which was across the road from Komaneka Hotel. Bendi's is upstairs, there is nothing flash about it and the traffic fumes were a bit rough but the food was cheap and tasty and the bintangs the same. Can't recommend Bali Eco bike tour enough, even MIL (62), who hadn't riden a bike for about 50 years, did it and loved it. Tip for young players - do not high-five the kids with your right hand if you feel that you may need to brake heavily with the left - after flying over the handlebars, it was an amazement to all that only minor bruising was sustained and no blood. Also survived the monkey forest - fortunately the monkeys have perfected the art of scraping their teeth over your skull without breaking the skin. Last day and night was in Kuta. Not as busy as expected but same as ever. 'Requests' at bemo corner has some great kids clothes and attacked Matahari for work ties for hubby (70% off thank you very much). So with a new Bali convert (MIL), we will start to troll webjet for more cheap airfares for our next endeavour!! Now have to work off the nasi goreng and bintang which was consumed two out of three meals a day!
