You go to another country and take the good with the bad.
I choose to live in bali and enjoy the wonderful people and culture and food, but I also understand that by doing so, I am foregoing many things. For example, if I get sick I know I cannot call an ambulance and then expect the same hospital treatment as in Australia. If I drive a car, then I am going to be pulled over by the korupt polisi and be charged "tourist tax" even if I haven't done anything wrong. If I get arrested, I have very few rights. If I get married to a local, as a woman I am not equal in the eyes of the law - women do not even inherit if their husbands die. Etc etc etc. I cannot change any of these things, but I choose to stay here!
Better you stay at home where writing a letter when you have a petty grievance might actually achieve something!
