Similar issue with a virgin ticket had an extra e in surname, I just rang virgin as soon as i noticed which was the next day and they just changed it no problems and sent me out a new itinery. I dont think it shoudl cost you anythign as you are not doing a complete name change from ie; bob brown to sally smith, but then I have never dealt with AA yet so not sure have you tried going into your booking on their site or tried callig them that woudl most likely be your best option, From most reports on here they seem easily contactable.
