Any amount from 20-100K will be greatly appreciated. It is a western tradition of gift giving for such ceremony. Traditionally no gift would be given. It is this ceremony that "transfers" ownership of the baby from God to the human parents. This will be the first time the babies feet touch the ground as it is considered dirty & therefore as the baby is more God like before this ceremony it is kept from touching the ground out of respect to God.
Most babies don't leave their family compound before this ceremony. After this they are officially part of the family & village. It is also when their third name will be chosen by the Gods. They become a little less God like & more human from this time on. You don't have to be Balinese to know that!!
It really is a beautiful ceremony & is very special to the parents. I have 2 daughters who have both been thru this.
