Hi
I am an aussie living in Lovina so here is some info...

For hotel, it depends on your budget per night, but the most convenient area to stay is Kalibukbuk either Jalan Binaria or Jalan Rambutan and then you can easily walk to restaurants - unless you want luxury and then you need to be a few km's out of central. That can be a pain unless you dont mind the walk.

Recommended Hotels ara Seabreeze cottages (about 350,000 per night bt no website), Rini Hotel, Angsoka Hotel, Rambutan Cottages (a little more expensive but lovely). I do not recommend Frangipani or Paradise Hotel (both Jalan Kartika) as have heard bad reports about overbearing western management and treatment of guests.

There is so much to do and plenty of Drivers to take you there. I recommend Gede (nickname "Atat" mobile number +6281 353 276 247). When you are up here, do the Munduk tour - you drive up and see the beaitiful twin lakes, and then return back to Lovina via the Hot Springs. Also you can go East of Singaraja and see Sekumpul Waterfall - stunning - and not far from there is the Cold springs. Also get gede to take you to se his village Panji in the hills behind Lovina. Really beautiful views and a great chance to se the everyday village life - something you will not see in the south. And of course you can do the early morning dolphin watching or go to Menjangan Island for snorkling.

Getting there will cost about 400,000-500,000 depending on where you want to stop on the way - usually either Bedugul or the Kintamani volcano.

Now that should give you plenty to Google!
Enjoy : )
