Make sure you don't get caught up in the hype of "bartering". Set yourself a limit for what you want to pay for something and stick to it. Make sure you just get up and walk out of the store. Just say "I don't need it anyway" and they will follow you. Usually they will say "another 20 or 50" (meaning 20 000r or 50 000r). Just say no and walk out and don't look back at them - trust me, they will come after you. And if they don't get it from somewhere else.

The shops on the sides of the road are where you will get the best prices. In the shopping centres, such as Matahri or Discovery, the prices are only slightly less than in AUS.

We just came back from bali and paid this amount for some things:
X-Large adult bintang singlets - 20 000r ($2.40)
Large Chanel (sorry if spelling wrong) immitation handbag - 160 000r ($20)
Smaller LV and smaller Guess immitation handbag - 100 000r ($12)

Just remember that you need to just walk out of the shop. For the large handbag they started the price at 1,000,000r. Just laugh and offer them something small like 100 000r then move up to what you are happy to pay, so it looks like you have moved up in price. Then just walk out. They WILL sell it to you as they need the sale.

Most of all HAVE FUN!
